Visit Nailsea and see the southwest in style
The southwest of England has a vibe all of its own. More slow-paced and laid back than other parts of the country, it’s perfect for a relaxing break. But there’s also plenty of variety within the region. Town and country. Coast and farmland. Beer and cider!
City lights
Bristol has all the attractions and amenities you’d expect in a big city. It’s particularly known for its cool arts scene, including colourful street art. But there’s also plenty of shopping, eating and drinking to be done. Don’t miss Harbourside, with its mouthwatering range of cafes, bars and restaurants. All with a view! Then there’s the historic city of Bath. It was the Romans who first made Bath a spa town. And the Roman remains are some of the city’s main attractions. But it’s also famed for its Georgian architecture. And it’s association with Jane Austen draws thousands of visitors too. You can easily spend a couple of days wandering around the various sights and museums.
See the seaside
Then head to the coast to visit Weston-super-Mare, a year round destination for families. There are sandy beaches. Uphill Beach alone is photogenic enough to have got more than 23 million views on Tik Tok! There’s also safe swimming. Donkey rides. An historic Grand Pier. Everything you could ask for in a traditional British seaside town. There are also plenty of events, and walks to do for a more peaceful getaway.
The perfect bolthole
With so much variety on offer, you’ll want to stay somewhere with easy access to it all. The charming Somerset town of Nailsea is just eight miles from Bristol and 11 from Weston Super Mare. Even Bath is just 20 miles away. So it’s the perfect base for exploring Somerset and the wider southwest. Especially if you prefer a bolthole away from the bustle of the cities.
Nailsea also has plenty of attractions of its own. Surrounded by the North Somerset Levels, it’s handy for nature reserves and country walks. The town has its own annual carnival, as well as a beer and cider festival in July. And the adjacent village of Wraxall has its own zoo. Nearby is Tyntesfield, a Victorian Gothic Revival country house and estate that’s also worth a visit.
Best of all, Guestz has the perfect place for you to stay in Nailsea itself. Coates House has a mixture of 1- & 2-bedroom apartments, all fully furnished to the highest standard. There’s even an allocated parking space for each apartment. Perfect for those planning trips to the surrounding attractions.
